Abena Ansah-Wright

Bio

Abena Boakyewa-Ansah is a historian of the 19th-century United States, with a focus on enslaved women’s ideas of and efforts to secure freedom during the American Civil War. She currently teaches history at UNC Asheville.  Boakyewa-Ansah is committed to challenging believers to more deeply understand the ways history points toward God’s story of redemption.
